(KMOV) – St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay’s office says that the mayor could approve a sales tax increase for public transportation as early as this week.
In 1997, voters approved a tax hike that would not take effect until St. Louis County also passed the increase.
In April, county voters approved the Metro tax hike.
The sales tax will go up a quarter percent in the city, and a half percent in the county.
