(KMOV) – Police are trying to track down some thieves that burglarized 70 cars overnight and then led police on a chase.
Police think the four suspects targeted vehicles in Maryland Heights, south St. Louis County and St. Louis City.
Three of the four suspects are behind bars, and one is still on the run. Police say the four suspects may be part of a gang that is very skilled in breaking into cars.
The suspects fired at a car owner who tried to confront them outside an area hotel. Their spree was interrupted when Maryland Heights police were called to an area hotel.
They then tried to ram a police car, and also flashed a gun at officers.
A police pursuit followed the incident in the parking lot, and ended on I-270 in a crash. The two suspects ran from the car and they were taken in by Maryland Heights police.
Police are still searching for a fourth suspect.
