Fire destroys Metro-East home

Through the mist of the rubble and the smell of smoke a charred shell of a home barley stood. If the walls of this once well kept home could talk it would tell you of good and bad times. Firefighters now need answers in determining what started this fire on a home at 43rd and Baker street in Centreville, IL. When our crews arrived to the scene firefighters were still working to put out the fire. The flames shot through the roof and shattered the windows of the home.  We are told that everyone got out of the building safely. As for the home, firefighters were not able to save it. Investigators have yet to say what may have caused the fire. The American Red Cross did arrive to scene to help the homeowners. Remarkably no other homes were destroyed during this fire.
