(KMOV) – This Memorial Day is a very special one for a Fenton teenager working to become an Eagle Scout.
He’s been working very hard to create a special tribute to America’s fallen heroes.
On Monday, that tribute was dedicated – a statue to remember all veterans who died in service.
Raymond Wilson, 15, raised thousands of dollars from donors to build the permanent memorial.
Members of Wilson’s troop, along with veterans from World War II and the Vietnam War, were on hand when the memorial was officially unveiled.
“I always wanted to honor those who have the ultimate sacrifice for us,” says Wilson. “I thought this would be the perfect way to do it.”
The memorial is now on permanent display in the Fenton City Park.
