(KMOV) -- The health of a St. Louis Police officer shot multiple times earlier this week is improving.
Officer Joseph Haman was shot Thursday morning and has now been upgraded from critical to serious condition. He was shot repeatedly after stopping a vehicle at a gas station at Grand and Natural Bridge. Officer Haman was wearing a bullet resistant vest at the time. The 24-year-old suspect was arrested Thursday evening.
Haman is an Iraq War veterand and a graduate of Vianney High. He was named officer of the year in the fifth district last year.
