Woman dead, child and two others injured in I-44 rollover accident

(KMOV) -- One person was killed and three others, including a toddler, were injured in a one-car rollover accident on Interstate 44.

This happened just after 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Police said the driver of a 1997 Ford Explorer lost control while traveling eastbound on I-44 near Vandeventer. The vehicle was traveling at high speeds and was changing lanes when it lost control, struck a guard rail and rolled several times.

A female passenger was ejected and killed.  The victim has been identified as 35-year-old April Faulkner from the 300 block of Forest in St. Charles.

The 25-year-old male driver, 19-year-old male passenger and 19-month-old girl, who was in a car seat, were taken to an area hospital. All are in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Accident reconstruction was at the scene for part of the afternoon and into the night.
