(KMOV) – A man protecting his car from a carjacking was taken to a St. Louis area hospital after he was set on fire late early Friday morning.

This happened in the 3800 block of Delor around 1:45 a.m. on Friday. That's just a few blocks from the South Grand intersection.
The 26-year-old victim tells St. Louis police that he was driving south on Spring at Taft when a dark blue Pontiac cut him off, forcing him to stop.
According to the victim, two men got out of the Pontiac and approached his vehicle. Both suspects reportedly had guns.
The suspects then allegedly got into the victim's vehicle and drove to the 3800 block of Delor where they poured a flammable liquid on him and demanded his wallet.
The victim tells police that he struggled with the suspects and was suddenly engulfed in flames. The victim says that he was able to get out of his vehicle and run to a nearby house.
The victim suffered burns to his arms, face and upper leg. He is in serious, but stable condition. His burned vehicle was found at the scene.
Police have released a description of the suspects. They are looking for a black man, around 6'2" with a thin build and long dreadlocks. The other suspect is described as a white man, around 5'3" around 160 pounds with a heavy build.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
