(KMOV) - The Missouri and Illinois departments of transportation will soon be affected by a nationwide shortage of road-striping paint.
The shortage comes from a fire a couple months ago at a Dow Construction Chemical Plant which led to a shortage of Methyl Methacrylate, an ingredient that makes striping paint tough and reflective.
MoDOT usually receives a couple paint deliveries a week, they haven't had any deliveries for three weeks now.
They are hoping to have a healthy paint supply again by September or October.
