Doctors at Washington University want to make sure Missourians stay away from raw crayfish.
Tuesday, News 4 learned that some crayfish can carry a rare parasite that, if ingested, can make people extremely ill. In all of North America 7 people have come down with the illness. So far, in Missouri doctors at Barnes Jewish Hospital have diagnosed 6 people.
The parasite lives in the heart of the crayfish.
