Man threatens St. Genevieve Board of Alderman, mentioning Cookie Thornton

(KMOV) – According to the St. Genevieve Police Department, a man threatened the Board of Alderman Wednesday.

The board was considering a business permit for George Wehner’s Auto Shop on Main Street, and concerns were raised when Wehner mentioned the board should remember what Cookie Thornton did to Kirkwood City Hall.

In 2008, Thornton killed five police officers and city council member just as the city council meeting got underway. Thornton died after he was shot by police. Kirkwood Mayor Mike Swoboda died from his injuries a month later.
