(KMOV) – Firefighters in O’Fallon, Mo. battled an intense early morning brush fire on Tuesday.

The fire started around 2 a.m. near a residential area in the 700 block of Autumn Valley Drive. According to fire officials, flames from the fire were nearly 8 feet tall when they arrived on the scene.

Approximately one-half acre of land burned before fire crews were able to contain the blaze.

There are no injuries reported.

 

There is no word on a cause for the fire or if any of the homes sustained damage.
