(KMOV.com) – Police said the man who died after a fiery crash and shootout with police had a long criminal history.

Authorities have identified the man as 29-year-old Damon Brischetto. Brischetto died Feb. 27 after leading police on a high speed chase before exchanging gun shots with them. The incident occurred in north St. Louis County. Authorities have still not determined how Brischetto died.

According to authorities, Brischetto’s record included conviction for drugs, tampering, forgery, and possession of methamphetamines. Police also said he was arrested Feb. 21 for domestic assault. At the time of the crash, he was out of prison on parole after a seven year sentence.
