(Metro East) - Mid Illinois Gym gives young teens a bright future in gymnastics in the Metro East area. 

About the Gym:
Mid Illinois Gymnastics began at the Alton YMCA in 1968 as “Mid Illinois Jets”.  After becoming YMCA State Champions in 1974 the group left the YMCA and became a private program.  
Since that time the group has had many USAG local, state, regional and national teams and individual champions.  These talented gymnasts have competed in various programs across the nation and last year the National Tumblers had multiple wins in various competitions. 
The present gym location in Godfrey, Illinois was built in 1996 and at that point the gym was renamed “Mid Illinois Gymnastics and Dance”.  The gym is owned and operated by Larry and Louise Moehn and Kristin Moehn Bower.  For more information on Mid Illinois Gymnastics, visit their website at
About the 2014 team (all Level-9 Gymnasts):
Abby - Senior at Marquette Catholic High School
Abby is a first All Around at 4 meets this year and will be studying pre-med at Vanderbilt University in the fall of 2014.  Abby has been a 2013 National Qualifier and was 4th All Around at Regional Championships in 2013.  She is working hard to qualify again this year.
Kayla - Junior at Jerseyville
Kayla has been to Regionals twice and hopes to continue in college with gymnastics.  Kayla won third place All Around in Nashville and second place All Around in St. Louis.
Mackenzie - 6th Grade at Bethalto
Mackenzie has been a fourth place All Around in Las Vegas, third place All Around in St. Louis and third place All Around in Nashville.  She continues to strive at such a young age and has a bright future in gymnastics.
Michelle - Sophomore at Alton
Michelle has placed third in two All Around meets this year.  She was a level nine state qualifier this year and placed in various regional competitions.
Amber - 8th Grade at Alton
Amber has been in third place in the Chicago All Around and fifth place in the Las Vegas All Around.  Amber has qualified for level 9 state this past year and she is has received awards for both elite tumbler and advanced tumbler.
