(KMOV) – Enjoy the spring-like weather while you can today, because it’s not going to stick around for long, according to News 4 Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt.
Temperatures Tuesday morning were in the mid-40s under partly cloudy conditions.
Those numbers are expected to reach a high of about 80 degrees by the early evening.
“We hit 80 yesterday, we’ll get very close to it again today, could even get a little above,” said Ehrhardt.
The chances for rain will move into the St. Louis area by about 9 p.m. and extends into the overnight hours as temperatures drop into the 30s.
The rain could change over to snow at some point, with up to a half-inch of slushy accumulation possible by the morning. Any accumulation will quickly melt due to the higher ground temperatures.
The precipitation will end by about 10 a.m.
“But then it clears out and dries out as we go through the afternoon,” said Ehrhardt.
Temperatures Wednesday will see a high of about 41 degrees. But temperatures will rebound the next three days, with highs expected in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
