BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) - A 19-year-old woman is facing charges after being accused of beating and abducting a 77-year-old man in Belleville. Police are now searching for an accomplice.

The victim was home alone on Saturday night when Brittany Davis arrived at his home.

"I just heard someone knocked on the door, he answered the door," said John Dahm, neighbor of the victim. "At that time of night he was asleep, so I guess he was stunned. He just opened the door, and here someone is."

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office said Davis asked for a ride before the ambush took place.

Court documents say Davis then attacked the man, using a belt to tie together his hands and put him into the trunk of his car. Investigators do not believe Davis acted alone.

According to his neighbor, the victim was able to escape from the trunk a few blocks away. Belleville police found Davis and a man at the victim's car in the parking lot of a Lowe's less than a mile from the victim's home.

The St. Clair Sheriff will not release the details of the second suspect because no arrests have been made, but said more charges are pending.
