Substitute teacher in Rockwood School District facing child porn charges

Posted: Updated:

(KMOV.com) – The Rockwood School District sent a troubling letter home Wednesday which informed parents a substitute teacher was questioned by police.

The letter stated that officers with the St. Louis County Police questioned the unidentified substitute teacher at Green Pines Elementary. In the letter, Superintendent Eric Knost says the district has no reason to believe the incident under investigation involves the substitute teacher's work within the district. However, after the letter was sent home, police later said the teacher was charged.

47-year-old Mark Yeargain is facing child porn charges. Police said they found child porn at Yeargain's home.

Yeargain has been removed as a substitute and is banned from district property.
