The Gateway Arch parking garage on the north end of the Arch grounds will be torn down and replaced with a new park.
A seven-and-a-half acre park will replace the garage, which held about 1,200 parking spaces. The new park will hold several new attractions for visitors, such as a natural amphitheater for music, an explorers garden and raised walkways, according to Ryan McClure of the CityArchRiver project.
Parking for visitors of the Arch will still have access to downtown garages for parking.
