BELLEFONTAINE NEIGHBORS (KMOV.com) – Bellefontaine Neighbors Chief of Police Robert S. Pruett will be retiring on April 30.

Bellefontaine Neighbors Mayor Robert J. Doerr said Pruett submitted his letter of retirement on January 5.

Pruett started his career with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department in 1964 as a Police Cadet, moving up to an officer three years later. Pruett became an officer in the City of Florissant in 1980 and eventually became a police sergeant in the city. In 2001 Pruett became the first Chief of Police appointed in Bellefontaine Neighbors history.
