(Missouri Football App) – Missouri senior defensive end Michael Sam may take home another honor.

Sam is one of 18 players named to the mid-season watch list for 2013 Ted Hendricks Award. The award is given annually to college football’s best defensive end. Hendricks was a standout defensive end at Miami (FL) in the late 1960s.

Sam leads the SEC in sacks (10) and tackles for loss (16).  He also ranks top 10 in both those categories nationally.  The Hitchcock, Tex. native has been named the SEC’s Defensive Line Player of the Week twice and Defensive Player of the Week once.

Finalists for the Hendricks Award will be named Nov. 25 and the winner will be announced Dec. 11.
