COLUMBIA, Mo. (Missouri Football App) -- On Monday, Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said that freshman wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham has a great attitude about his role in the Tiger offense so far in 2012.  Many fans are upset by Mizzou’s offensive production so far in 2012 and think DGB needs to get the ball more.

Many college football experts ranked Green-Beckham as the top high school football recruit in the entire nation in 2012.  Coming from Springfield, Missouri, Green-Beckham chose to attend Mizzou and play under Pinkel.

So far this season, DGB has 6 catches for just 48 yards and no touchdowns.  Another interesting stat is that he has almost as many rushing attempts as he does catches.  DGB has rushed the ball 4 times for 20 yards.

Despite being a wide receiver who specializes in the catching the ball, Pinkel confirms that the team is trying to get the freshman star more play.

“We had 58 plays against South Carolina and DGB was in 26 of them,” said Pinkel.  “My message to DGB is to keep focus on getting better.  That’s it.  Don’t focus on your expectations, just focus on becoming a better player and following in the footsteps of players like Martin Rucker, Chase Coffman, Jeremy Maclin and Danario Alexander.  Hopefully he’s listening because that’s how he’ll reach his full potential.”

Keep your eyes on Green-Beckham and the rest of the Mizzou offense when they play Central Florida on Saturday.
