(KMOV) – Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk on Monday was named Southeastern Conference Freshman Player of the week, his third time winning the award this season.
The accolade comes after a 48-17 win over Kentucky in which Mauk threw five touchdown passes on 17-28 passing.
The five TD passes tied a school record with former Tiger quarterback Chase Daniel, who accomplished the feat four times between 2007 and 2008.
The recognition marks the 10th time this season a Missouri player has won the weekly award. Mauk’s third player-of-the-week accolade matches defensive end Michal Sam for the team lead.
