(Missouri Football App) – A win opens up a number of possibilities for the Tigers.

If  #5 Mizzou beats #3 Auburn, it will head to a BCS bowl because the SEC is one of five automatic qualifying conferences, where the conference champion is guaranteed a spot in a BCS Bowl. The most likely destination is the Sugar Bowl, the traditional bowl game for the SEC Champion.

What about Mizzou’s odds of reaching the National Championship Game?

It will probably require #10 Michigan State to top currently undefeated  #2 Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game or #20 Duke to pull off a gigantic upset over #1 Florida State. There is also talk that a one loss SEC champion could leap over Buckeyes even if they get by the Spartans, but that that seems unlikely.

Another scenario that could play out: Missouri wins, Ohio State or Florida State loses and #4 Alabama then slides into the BCS Championship Game with the Tigers left out in the cold. ESPN BCS expert Brad Edwards said this is very unlikely to occur.

“If OSU or FSU loses, there is a very slim chance Alabama will stay ahead of Missouri,” Edwards said in a conference call. “Even if Missouri is behind Alabama in the polls, the win over Auburn will vault it over Alabama in the BCS computers."

Mizzou fans mantra for this weekend should be: MIZ-ZOU and Go Green! Go White!
