COLUMBIA, Mo. (Missouri Football App) -- With plenty of Thanksgiving leftovers to finish, the Missouri Tigers travel to College Station, Texas on Saturday to face off against the #9 ranked Texas A&M Aggies. Missouri is currently 5-6 overall and sits just one win away from reaching bowl eligibility.
This is Mizzou’s last scheduled game of the 2012 season unless they can pull out a victory against the Aggies on Saturday. The Tigers could have clinched bowl eligibility Saturday when they lost on a last-minute touchdown to Syracuse 31-27.
If Gary Pinkel and the Tigers want to reach college football’s postseason for the sixth year in a row, they’re going to need to keep Heisman-candidate freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel at bay.
Manziel has led the Aggies to a 9-2 record overall while beating teams like Alabama and Arkansas. Manziel has thrown for more than 3,000 yards and 21 touchdowns compared to just 7 interceptions. He can also use his legs to produce positive plays. The freshman has also rushed for more than 1,100 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Starting quarterback junior James Franklin is “questionable” for Saturday’s game after sustaining a concussion against Syracuse.
Mizzou enters College Station having won the previous two trips to play Texas A&M. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN2 and kickoff is at 6:10 p.m.
