COLUMBIA, Mo. (Missouri Football App) -- Upon entering the Southeastern Conference this year, Mizzou knew its football schedule would have some games you want to “circle”.  Historically, the SEC is one of the best football conferences in the country and on Saturday, fans in Columbia will get a chance to see one of these “circled” games.

Mizzou plays Alabama at 2:30 on Saturday.  Alabama is currently ranked #1 in the nation and is undefeated this season.  It’s hard to deny their historic and distinguished resume of football feats.  Head coach Nick Saban led the Crimson Tide to yet another National Championship victory in 2011.

Mizzou is 3-3 on the season and looks to get back on the right track after suffering a disappointing loss Saturday against Vanderbilt.  Injuries have plagued the Tiger’s team in 2012 and this Saturday it does not get any better.  Junior starting quarterback James Franklin will not play due to a knee injury.  Starting offensive linemen Jack Meiners and Mitch Morse will miss Saturday’s game as well.

Students around campus have mixed emotions leading up to Saturday’s game.  Many students refuse to watch Mizzou potentially get obliterated by the #1 ranked team and are trying to sell their tickets.  Many fans are holding onto their ticket and are excited to watch the game because it’s not often you get to watch a #1 ranked team play.

The last time Mizzou played a #1 ranked team was in 2010 against Oklahoma.  Mizzou ended up beating Oklahoma and the Tigers look to defeat #1 Alabama on Saturday.
