COLUMBIA, Mo. (Missouri Football App) -- Missouri sixth-year senior offensive lineman Elvis Fisher has played in many football games over the years. On Saturday, Fisher and the rest of the team will play in yet another big game against #1 ranked Alabama at Faurot Field.
Fisher’s experienced when it comes to big games.
“From a player’s standpoint, I just look at it as another football game,” said Fisher. “They want to win as bad we do. I know some guys say they think that we don’t want to win based on our record, but you know all these guys on the team want to win.”
Mizzou sits at 3-3 with their chances of making a bowl game in 2012 in jeopardy. Injuries, underperforming players and other areas have been places of weakness so far for the 2012 squad.
“We work our butts off to go out there and perform on Saturdays,” said Fisher. “And sometimes it doesn’t always come up our way, but we come out ever week and try to get a win for the Tigers.”
Fisher will start at left tackle on Saturday against the potent Alabama defense. The offensive line has been a huge concern in 2012 and it doesn’t get any better. Injuries suffered last week against Vanderbilt force freshman center Brad McNulty to start instead of sophomore Mitch Morse. Senior offensive lineman Jack Meiners will also miss Saturday’s game.
