(KMOV.com)- Forget Kansas’ Allen Fieldhouse, Missouri seniors continue to put Mizzou Arena on the map. As the Tigers Flip-ped by Baylor with a 72-57 victory over the weekend, their seniors moved to 64-3 on the home court.
More recently, the Tigers are 18-0 inside Mizzou Arena this season. Since Phil “Flip” Pressey began bringing the ball up the court, Mizzou is 30-1 the last two seasons suffering just a four point loss to Kansas to close out the regular season last year.
Aside from the win/loss column, Pressey’s performance is the biggest take away from the Baylor victory at home.
Flip showed his scoring ability that many fans have waited for since conference play began. Hehit four from beyond the arc, scored a team high 19, and a personal high since the second game of the season against Mercer. He only committed one turnover, his fewest amount since Texas came to town one month ago.
In a game where Ricardo Ratliffe scored 6 points, shot at a 33 percent clip and struggled with foul trouble throughout, Pressey had the answer that so many Tigers have had this season. Whether it be the sixth man Michael Dixon, Marcus Denmon against Kansas, or Flip against Baylor, the Tigers have truly been a team where if one tiger stumbles, another one roars.
The Tigers welcome the Cowboys from Oklahoma State inside the lair tomorrow night as they look to avenge the upset road loss earlier in conference play.
