Phil Pressey named to John Wooden Award preseason top-50 list

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMOV) – Missouri point guard Phill Pressey was named to the John Wooden Preseason Top 50 list on Thursday.

Named the SEC Preseason Play of the Year last month, Pressey joins former teammates Marcus Denmon and Kim English in being put on the top-50 list.

Each year, the Los Angeles Athletic Club names 50 front-runners for college basketball’s most prestigious individual honor, the John Wooden Award.

Pressey averaged 10.3  points, 6.4 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game last season for the 30-5 Tigers. Those were all career highs.

Missouri opens the 2012-13 season vs. SIUE on Saturday at 4 p.m.
