(MISSOURI BASKETBALL APP) – An MRI showed Mizzou senior Laurence Bowers suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee in Monday’s 84-68 win over Alabama.
An MRI confirmed the extent of the injury, which occurred Tuesday night during a collision under the basket with teammate Phil Pressey.
Tuesday’s MRI revealed no damage to the ACL or bone in the knee. Bowers will miss Saturday’s games against Ole Miss, as well as Tuesday’s match-up against Georgia.
According to team officials, he will be reevaluated at the end of next week.
Bowers injured the knee with about 5 minutes to go after Missouri point guard Phil Pressey fell on his leg under the basket.
He had 12 points and five rebounds in 19 minutes before leaving the game with the injury.
Bowers missed all last season with a torn ligament in his left knee and wears a brace on that leg.
He leads the 10th-ranked Tigers with a 17-point average and is second with seven rebounds per game
