(Missouri Basketball App) - Lack of time on the court will hurt both Michael Dixon and the Tigers.
Dixon was recently suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. When Dixon's suspension will end is anybody's guess. Regardless of how long it is, Dixon needs to be on the court with his teammates.
Missouri will do just fine without him in their early non-conference schedule. The squad should register blowouts against Southern Illinois Edwardsville (SIUE), Alcorn State, and Nicholls State. As Thanksgiving rolls around, the Tigers head south to play in the Bahamas and face serious competition.
The Tigers will miss more than the 13.5 points per game Dixon provided last season. Dixon and Phil Pressey are the only returning players from last season who saw any time on the court. It will take time for the chemistry to develop on this young, transfer-laden team.
Chemistry can't be attained in practice. In order for this team to gel, its key players need to play.
