(KMOV) -- The Rams carried over the momentum from the end of the first half as Dante Hall returned the kickoff 32 yards, which led to an 11 play, 6:16 drive down the field to set up Josh Brown for a 25 yard field goal.

Key play was 4th and 4 @ WAS 36, after using a timeout, Marc Bulger completed a pass to Torry Holt for the first down. Steven Jackson earned the bulk of the yards, finally finding yards thru the middle of the line.

STL 13   WAS 7

The defense continued to hold as Victor Adeyanju crashed from right end for 3rd down sack on a good line surge.

Hall finally gets to return a punt—34 yard return on 51 yard punt.

Rams wasted their second timeout prior to 3rd and 15—as Bulger was then sacked by Shawn Springs.

Leonard Little knocks the ball loose on third down—forces punt.

After the punt, Lee Torrence gets into it with Haslett on sideline—Cliff Ryan steps in.

Short possession by the Rams, as a Richie Incognito false start moves the team back to 3rd and 7. Another quick slant to Holt and Josh Brown comes in for the 44 yard field goal.

End of 3rd Quarter: STL 16   WAS 7

Clinton Portis had a couple of strong runs on the outside to have Washington on the move until Pisa Tinoisamoa came in for the Rams fourth sack of the day to bring up 3rd and 17.

Shaun Suisham 39 yard field goal attempt is good.

STL 16   WAS 10

Suisham’s kickoff goes out of bounds, 1st down for Rams at the 40 yard line.

St. Louis moved backwards as Bulger was sacked on first play, then a delay of game penalty, and Alex Baron called for illegal formation to bring back Bulger’s diving scramble for the first down.

Portis again drove the Redskins on the ground, but Antwan Randle El went for 30 yards down to STL 5 on a key 3rd and 14 play. Portis then powered thru the right side for the touchdown and Washington lead.

WAS 17   STL 16, with 3:47 remaining.

Jackson two rushes, then Avery 12 yards for the first down—two minute warning.

Negative yards began to make the situation look bleak for the Rams, but Donnie Avery hauled in a 43 yard reception on third down to keep drive alive. The booth review upheld the catch, giving the Rams first down at the Washington 16 with :39 left on the clock.

Richie Incognito was then flagged for an unsportsmanlike penalty for yelling at officials, making it 2nd and 26. Jackson then took a handoff and ran into the pile to the WAS 32.
