ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The Rams re-sign cornerback Fakhir Brown after a long and bizarre parting of ways.

Brown was unexpectedly released on Sept. 24th by previous head coach Scott Linehan. The Rams fired Linehan five days later and replaced him with Jim Haslett.

Haslett has been trying ever since to get Brown back in the fold and finally got his man today.

Brown was taken aback by the release, and never got an explanation from his former head coach. He had to hear the news from his agent.

Brown had played previously for Haslett in New Orleans but wasn't ready to make a quick return to the Rams. He received interest from other teams and was close to striking a deal with Baltimore.

Ultimately, Brown wanted to know that something like his release wouldn't happen again.
