TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) -- Henry Harris scored from a yard out with 42 seconds left Saturday to give Southeast Missouri State a 24-21 win over Indiana State, which hasn't won a game since 2006.
The Sycamores (0-4) jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter behind short touchdown runs by Darrius Gates and Antoine Brown. Southeast Missouri (2-3) responded with a 74-yard kickoff return by Jacob McKinley that put the ball on the Indiana State 10, then made it 14-7 on a one-yard touchdown run by quarterback Houston Lillard.
The Redhawks took the lead in the third quarter on a 35-yard field goal and a 12-yard touchdown pass from Lillard to Miles Edwards to make the score 17-14.
Charles Dowdell hooked up with Ryan Patrick on a 33-yard touchdown pass with 10:46 left in the game to put the Sycamores back up 21-17.
Harris rushed for 100 yards for Southeast Missouri, while Lillard ran for a touchdown and threw for another. Dowdell led Indiana State, which has lost 18 straight, with 96 rushing yards.
