Butler runs over Missouri S&T 41-15

ROLLA, Mo. (AP) -- Butler quarterback Matt Kobli threw two touchdown passes and ran for 116 yards and a touchdown Saturday as the Bulldogs beat Missouri S&T 41-15.
Butler (2-1) took a 13-3 lead into the half before blowing the game open in the second half despite 380 yards passing by Missouri S&T quarterback Jason Schleuter.
The Bulldogs took a 20-3 lead midway through the third quarter on a one-yard Ryan Hitchcock run. The Miners (2-2) responded with a five-yard touchdown run by David Shields to make it 20-9, but the point-after kick failed.
Ricky Trujillo got the second of his two touchdown runs for the Bulldogs from a yard out to extend Butler's lead to 27-9 with 22 seconds left in the third quarter.
Schleuter connected with Bryan Crider for a two-yard touchdown pass to bring the Miners to within 12 points at 27-15 midway through the fourth quarter, but the extra point attempt was blocked.
Kobli hit Eddie McHale on a 32-yard touchdown strike to put Butler up 34-15 with 6:01 left in the game, then the quarterback broke free on a 46-yard touchdown run to finish the scoring.
Chad Shockley finished with 165 yards receiving for Missouri S&T and Zach Howard added 111.
