CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) -- Southern Illinois has landed two guards and a forward during the early signing period, and coach Chris Lowery already is quite familiar with one of them.
The Salukis landed 5-foot-9 point guard Kendal Brown from Evansville, Ind. He is Lowery's cousin. Both men went to the same high school where Brown averaged 15 points, five assists and about three steals last season.
Also headed to Carbondale next season is 6-foot-6 point guard Drew Barham from Memphis. He averaged 15 points and more than six rebounds last season in leading his team to the Tennessee state 2-AA state title game.
The Salukis also signed 6-foot-8, 240-pound power forward Jordan Myers of Ferdinand, Ind. He averaged 17 points and eight rebounds last season.
