S. Illinois gets best of California, Pa. 66-52

CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) -- Carlton Fay scored 16 points to lead Southern Illinois to a 66-52 exhibition win over California University of Pennsylvania on Tuesday night.
The matchup was a regional round of the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic supporting Coaches vs. Cancer.
Fay had SIU's only double-double with 11 rebounds. Wesley Clemmons, with 10 points, was the only other Saluki to score in the double digits. Kevin Dillard came off the bench to score nine points and chip in 9 assists.
The teams were tied 25-25 after the first half, but Southern Illinois surged through the second half, outscoring California, Pa. 41-27. SIU's bench pitched in 31 points.
Jerial Nixon had a game-high 20 points for the Vulcans on 8-for-12 shooting. Julian Logan added 10 points and had seven rebounds.
The Vulcans shot 40.9 percent from the floor, while the Salukis shot 41.3 percent.
