(HockeyStL) -- When you're a team that is starved for goals and has a 21-year old, albeit a very inexperienced 21-year old, on the bench it's only natural to wonder if that person will get a chance to show their talents.

Vladimir Tarasenko is patiently waiting for his opportunity against the Kings.

The Blues 1st round pick in 2010 got off to a fast start this season by scoring five goals in the first seven games of the year.  But he found the back of the net just three more times after that and was a healthy scratch in game two of this playoff series against the Kings.

I asked GM Doug Armstrong if the 21-year old would get a chance to play this series or if that's a question for head coach Ken Hitchcock to answer.

"That's a head coach question," Armstrong quipped.

So the question was then posed to Ken Hitchcock himself.

"I haven't gotten that far yet.  That's tomorrow's decision," Hitchcock said.  "I'll have to sleep on a lot of that stuff just to see what we need.  (Tarasenko) looks hungry and ready to play.  I'm sure he's going to play well when he gets in.  But you're not really sure you want to screw around with the lineup right now when we're playing so well so I have to balance that out."
