(HockeyStL) – An early favorite for the Calder Memorial Trophy was back at it again for the Blues Thursday night.
Vladimir Tarasenko scored his fifth goal of the season on a sharp wrister to give his team a three-goal lead in the first period. The goal was created after the Russian rookie halted his momentum towards Blue Jackets goalie Sergei Bobrovsky to dodge a defender and score.
The goal marked the fourth consecutive game Tarasenko notched a point (two goals, two assists).
Tarasenko leads all rookies with five goals, a plus-six rating and is tied for the lead in points (9).
