(HockeySTL) -- Alexander Steen scored his 22nd goal of the season Thursday night's 6-3 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team who drafted him in 2002.

Steen’s goal came seven minutes into the third period as the Blues took a 4-1 lead over the Maple Leafs. TJ Oshie (23) and Alex Pietrangelo (15) assisted.

The 29-year-old Winnipeg native is close to tying his career high in goals in a single season. He recorded 24 goals during the 2009-2010 season. Steen is second in goals scored league-wide, trailing only the Washington Capitals’ captain Alex Ovechkin, who has 26.
