(HockeyStL) -- The Blues are in the midst of a break after playing six games in a nine-day span to open the season.
Alex Steen and Kris Russell missed practice Tuesday in an effort to keep the legs fresh. Andy McDonald was on the ice for the beginning part of the practice but left early.
All three players are expected to be back at practice Wednesday.
As a result, Vladimir Tarasenko was without two of his linemates. Vladimir Sobotka and Matt D’Agostini filled in on the line and Ian Cole was paired with Roman Polak.
