(HockeyStL) – Blues enforcer Ryan Reaves was expected to have surgery on his broken right hand Monday afternoon.
Reaves injured his hand during a scrap with Stars defenseman Brendan Dillon in the first period of Saturday’s game. He was expected to miss a month because of the injury, but the team decided it will re-evaluate Reaves in six weeks.
As a result, the Blues will place Reaves on the injured reserve.
The 26-year-old forward has dressed in all 22 games this season and posted four points, including two goals, this season. He has also accumulated 65 penalty minutes, the most on the team and fourth-most in the league.
