(Hockey StL) -- Game one started at seven o’clock in the evening. Game two will not begin until 8:30 at night. How much of an effect will that have on the Blues and Kings tonight remains to be seen. But there’s no denying it takes them out of their day to day rhythm.
“It better not get to overtime or I’m going to be sleeping on the bench,” Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock joked. “I don’t know. The gap from now until 8:30 is (big).
“There better be some good games on at six o’clock when we’re sitting in the office twiddling our thumbs. It’s a long day. I’ve never seen anything like this so this will be interesting.”
Players say there really is no frame of reference because they haven’t had to do this before. But they say they’re confident it won’t affect how they play once the puck drops and everything gets started.
