(HockeyStL) -- Roberto Luongo entered this season with his name on the trade block as Cory Schneider began to emerge as a No. 1 goalie last season. There was no trade for Luongo as he has shined in seven starts this season, but he failed to stop the Blues.
The 33-year-old has appeared to put the rumors aside en route to solid season. He entered Sunday’s tilt against the Blues with a 4-0-2 record with a 1.45 goals against average and .943 save percentage.
The Blues were able to do something no other team has done in Luongo’s six previous starts: score more than two goals.
T.J. Oshie, Andy McDonald and Patrik Berglund were all credited with a goal in the 4-3 shootout victory Sunday.
Luongo, who entered the shootout 6-for-9, failed to stop both of the shots he faced in the shootout.
He stopped 20 of 23 shots faced against the Blues.
