LOS ANGELES - Every playoff game is big. There's no doubt about that. But when Monday night's Game 4 between the Blues and Kings is the difference between a 3-1 edge for St. Louis and a 2-2 tie, it's especially crucial.
"We have to win a game here (in Los Angeles)," Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock said. "If this thing goes 2-2 it's a travel series and that's a big advantage for them in my opinion so we want to get out of the travel series."
The players agree with that assessment.
"Oh (tonight) is huge," TJ Oshie said. "We are just focused on tonight but 2-2 is anyone's game. 3-1, you can't relax but it gives that extra edge to close out a series."
"This is going to be a big game that's for sure," Chris Stewart said. "Everyone's fired up. We weren't happy with our outcome the last game. We've been waiting for today to give them payback and obviously we want to go back to St. Louis with a 3-1 lead."
A win for the Blues Monday night at the Staples Center would give them a chance to close out the series on their home ice Wednesday night. A loss, on the other hand, makes this - in essence - a best-of-three series.
