(HockeyStL) -- St. Louis Blues goaltender Jake Allen was named to the NHL’s All-Rookie team on Saturday.
With Jaroslav Halak battling injuries and Brian Elliott struggling at the beginning of the season, the Blues called upon Allen to calm the storm in net.
Allen led rookie goaltenders with nine victories, a 2.46 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage. Eight of his wins came in his first nine starts, including a stretch of five straight games.
He was drafted in the second round (34th overall) by St. Louis in the 2008 draft.
