(HockeyStL) -- Nobody has been as hot since the start of the season as Toronto Maple Leafs forward Phil Kessel.

Kessel continued the sizzling trend against the St. Louis Blues with a goal in a 3-2 shutout victory on Thursday at the Scottrade Center.

Kessel netted the Leafs second goal of the game in the first period on a power play giving the forward a league-leading 12 goals and 23 points in 16 games this season.

The former 2006 first round pick of the Boston Bruins also scored the only goal in the shootouts which broke the Leafs two-game losing streak.
