(KMOV) – St. Louis Blues forward T.J. Oshie was sued by his landlord after his dogs allegedly did nearly $12,000 worth of damage to a penthouse suite, according to Courthouse News Services.
According to the article, Ashley Development (doing business as Buckingham Apartments) sued Oshie in St. Louis County court claiming his two dogs did $11,026.92 worth of damages to his penthouse apartment.
The suit claims the damage was done primarily to the penthouse patio area, where Oshie allegedly kept his dogs. According to the suit, the dogs scratched or chewed on the screens.
Buckingham said it would also cost another $1,000 to repaint door frames. Oshie, 26, paid $3,750 to live at the apartment, according to the complaint.
“Under the terms of the lease, defendant was fully responsible and liable for any and all injury done to the apartment unit or building and in the event the defendant did not leave the apartment in the same condition in which it was received, plaintiff is entitled to recover all of its damages plus fifteen percent (15 percent) overhead to put the lease premises back to its original condition, minus reasonable wear and tear,” the complaint says.
The complaint did not say what type of dogs Oshie has, though he said they were rescue dogs in a YouTube video. In the video, Oshie said one looks like a black Lab retriever, while the other is a mutt.
Oshie was drafted by the Blues 24th overall in the 2005 draft.
