(HockeyStL) -- It's not something he thinks gives an advantage to either team but Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock says it's a factor. He believes the rink inside the Staples Center has a smaller surface area.
"Way smaller," he says.
"I've said that for years in this building. It's an interesting building. Some of the buildings are more rectangular in the corners and these are rounded. They round off quick. Both teams are built for this type of surface so it should be a good game here."
Hitchcock believes the puck pops out faster in those corners and requires players on the ice to be even quicker than they normally do. He says they made adjustments and changes to their strategy the last time the Blues were in Los Angeles and they will do the same again.
