(HockeyStL) -- Playing in his third game in four days, Brian Elliott lifted the St. Louis Blues to a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Monday.

Elliott didn’t get the start, but answered the call when Jaroslav Halak suffered a lower-body injury late in the first period. From there Elliott, who hadn’t played an NHL game since March 5, stopped 19 of 20 shots.

The Wild’s only goal came after Elliott was unable to hold onto the puck while his team was on the penalty kill. Dany Heatley capitalized on the goal to tie the game 1-1 early in the second period.

It marked his first win since January 31.

Elliott returned to the Blues after being sent to the AHL-affiliate Peoria Rivermen for conditioning. He appeared in two games, including a shutout on Saturday.
