(HockeyStL) – St. Louis Blues goaltender Brian Elliott has been on an absolute tear to start the season.  He leads the NHL in GAA (1.31) and save percentage (.951) and is also tied for the most shutouts (3).

Elliott was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week after posting a 3-0-0 record while playing against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Calgary Flames and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Sidney Crosby and Vancouver Canucks goaltender Cory Schneider were named the other Stars of the Week.

Elliott is 10-1-0 on the season and posted a 0.98 goals against average, a .963 save percentage and one shutout and has propelled the team to fifth in the Western Conference and only three points from first place.
