(HockeyStL) -- The St. Louis Blues got a look at their newly-acquired defenseman for the first time against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday -- and he didn’t disappoint.

Acquired on Monday in a trade with the Calgary Flames, Jay Bouwmeester recorded an assist and a minus-one rating in 24:45 played during his first game, a 4-3 shootout victory over Chicago.

Bouwmeester is the current “Iron Man” of the NHL playing in 622 consecutive games.

This season, Bouwmeester has posted 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 34 games played.
